EDS Roundtable & Retreat Volunteer Information
Bismarck, ND
October 13 & 14, 2024
Thank You for your interest in volunteering for this workshop. Your participation is highly respected and valued.
The manual techniques taught to the students are adapted from several modalities and modified to offer a very gentle approach to treating people with lax connective tissue. Information on EDS, comorbidities, safe touch, contraindications and cautions will be presented in this workshop. Keep reading below.
Health Screening
For your safety, a health screening questionnaire and follow-up conversation with the instructor will be required to grant permission to attend the workshop. You must be at least 18 years old and medically stable to participate.
Your Role
You will be acting as a volunteer client for the education of the student-therapists so that they may learn gentle manual techniques specific to treating people with EDS/HSD. Your participation is highly valued and honored.
Roundtable
All volunteers are invited to attend the Roundtable Discussion. Here you will have an opportunity to share what you feel is important for the students to know about you, your health, EDS/HSD and what it's like for you to live with EDS/HSD. This part of the program is highly anticipated and respected by the students.
Groups
Depending on the student-to-volunteer ratio, volunteer groups may be established for scheduling purposes and time slots provided.
Assignment to your group is made after registration and follow-up conversation with the instructor. Your preferred day is taken into consideration. You may volunteer for both days.
